Burn Up A Road

MVL's collection of Southern sayings

If someone tells you to Burn Up A Road, they’re not telling you to screech your tires until they smoke. What they’re telling you is, Yes, get going! For example, say you call up a friend in the next town over and float out the idea of paying them a visit. You’ll likely hear them say, “Burn up a road!” They’re encouraging you to come, and they’ll likely be waiting for you on the front porch.
