Classically Quick Tomato & Bacon Shrimp and Grits
Remember when we told you how Mooresville shops for groceries? Now let us show you how to put your goods to delicious use with this 5-step southern classic. Complete with three ways to get to it!
Save Money Strategy: Hit Aldi (or Food Lion) for everything except the grits. Get those at Stephen’s Country store, Lowes Foods, or possibly at Food Lion, (which would also save you time.) White or yellow is ok, stone ground is best, and don’t you dare use instant grits!
Save Time Strategy: Head to Lowes Foods (or Harris Teeter, Publix). You’ll find NC caught shrimp at Lowes foods if you really want to be authentic. Look for shrimp stock too, to cook your grits with more flavor.
Highest Quality Strategy: Get local, stone-ground grits and thick-sliced applewood bacon at Stephen’s Country Store. Then head to Buddy’s Seafood Market for fresh wild caught NC shrimp. Then visit Fresh Market for heirloom tomatoes, white pepper, and other organic topper ingredients like organic arugula or chives.
